Kentucky State Police Investigating Fraud Complaint
KSP Detective David Dick continues the investigation.
Eddyville, KY (September 6th, 2019) –The Kentucky State Police arrested Elizabeth Jane Rogers of Lyon County, KY. Rogers also uses the aliases Jane or Janie Egbert, Elizabeth J. Egbert, Janie Rogers, and Elizabeth Jane Egbert-Rogers throughout the community. The Kentucky State Police were contacted in reference to Rogers’ suspicious activity with several members of the community which they believed may be criminal. During the investigation, detectives learned Rogers had used her daughter, Kelley Egbert, and other relatives’ personal information to secure financial loans without their knowledge or consent. This action was found to have taken place on more than one occasion with Rogers also forging documents as she was operating the Smoke Shack in Eddyville, KY. Rogers was charged with six counts of theft of identity of another without consent and four counts of possession of a forged instrument- 1st degree identity. She was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail. Detectives believe additional charges will be forthcoming as the investigation continues.
