Kentucky State Police Investigates Officer-Involved Shooting in Bell County

PINEVILLE, Ky. (Aug. 29, 2023) – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) has been requested by the Bell County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) to investigate an officer-involved shooting that occurred at 7:33 p.m. EST on Aug. 28 in Bell County.

At the request of BCSO, KSP Post 10 detectives arrived on scene and the investigation into the incident remains ongoing.

A male suspect was pronounced deceased on scene by the Bell County Deputy Coroner.

KSP has statewide jurisdiction and investigates officer-involved shootings throughout the commonwealth as requested by local law enforcement agencies.
