Kentucky State Police Post 11 London Arrest Louisville Man with Two Counts of Robbery
MOUNT VERNON, Ky. (June 9, 2026) – On June 8, 2026, Trooper Ben Allen of the Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 11 London attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding on US 25 in Mount Vernon, KY. The vehicle failed to yield to Trooper Allen’s emergency equipment, and a brief pursuit ensued on various roads in Roackcastle and Laurel Counties.
After a tire deflation device was utilized on the vehicle, the vehicle came to a stop, and Evan Colbert, 30 years old of Louisville, KY, was taken into custody. After being taken into custody, it was found that Mr. Colbert had committed robberies of two gas stations, one in Laurel County and the other in Rockcastle County.
Mr. Colbert was charged with two counts of robbery 1st degree, fleeing 1st degree in a motor vehicle, multiple counts of wanton endangerment 1st degree, along with other charges. Trooper Allen was assisted in his investigation by KSP Post 11 London personnel, the Rockcastle County Sheriff’s Office, the Mount Vernon Police Department, the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, and the London Police Department.
