Juvenile Charged with Murder Following Franklin County Death Investigation

The incident remains under investigation

FRANKFORT, Ky. (November 27, 2019) – The Kentucky State Police, Frankfort Post has charged one person in connection to an ongoing murder investigation that began on October 1, 2019.

 

The initial investigation alleges that Ronald Thornton, 73 years old of Frankfort, KY, was killed at his home on Pea Ridge Road in Franklin County.  As a result of the ongoing investigation, a juvenile was taken into custody yesterday afternoon and is lodged in a Juvenile Detention Center charged with Murder.  The incident remains under investigation by KSP Post 12 Detective Howard.

FRANKFORT, Ky. (October 1, 2019) – The Kentucky State Police, Frankfort Post was contacted just after 7:45 am today, and is now conducting a homicide investigation in Franklin County.

 

The initial investigation indicates that the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 hang-up call from a residence on Pea Ridge Road just before 6:00 am, and responded to the scene.  When the Deputies arrived they located a male that had serious life-threatening injuries inside the Pea Ridge residence. The male individual succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter. As a result of the ongoing investigation, the deceased has been taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for an autopsy.  The victim’s identity is not being released at this time.
