UPDATE: KSP Investigates Officer Involved Shooting in Franklin County

Frankfort, Ky. (December 4, 2018) – The Kentucky State Police, Critical Incident Response Team and Detectives from Kentucky State Police Post 12 are continuing the investigation into the officer involved shooting that occurred on Friday, November 30, 2018.
The ongoing investigation indicates when Troopers from Kentucky State Police, Deputies from Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, and Officers from Frankfort Police Department confronted Zindell R. Lindle age 38 of Frankfort, Ky. after Lindle ran from Frankfort Police earlier that night. Lindle disregarded verbal commands and failed to comply with the officers’ instructions. Trooper Jack Hedges attempted to place Lindle into custody. During that confrontation, Lindle attempted to drive off dragging Trooper Hedges alongside the vehicle. While being drug by Lindle in his vehicle Trooper Hedges gave verbal commands to stop the car. Lindle did not comply. Trooper Hedges discharged his weapon striking Lindle.
Zindell R. Lindle was indicted by a Franklin County Grand Jury and is charged with, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree (Police Officer), Fleeing and Evading Police 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle), Resisting Arrest, and two counts of Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree
The case is still under investigation by the Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Response Team and Detectives at Kentucky State Police Post 12.

Frankfort, KY (November, 30 2018) — Detectives from the Kentucky State Police Post 12, Frankfort and Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Response Team are out at the intersection of US 127 and West Ridge investigating a Trooper involved shooting.
Kentucky State Police were assisting Frankfort Police Department in an attempt to locate of an individual that fled from a traffic stop.
The Kentucky State Police Trooper was injured during the incident and has been taken to the Hospital and is being treated with non-life threatening injuries.
The individual that was shot is at the hospital undergoing surgery at this time. His current condition is unknown.
At this time the investigation is in the preliminary stages and additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
