Kentucky State Police Investigating Shooting Incident in Anderson County
LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (Feb. 14, 2026) – The Kentucky State Police Post 12 Frankfort is investigating a shooting that occurred during the early morning hours of Saturday, February 14, in Anderson County.
At approximately 1:27 a.m., KSP received a report of shots fired on Lover’s Leap Road. Preliminary investigation indicates a large party was taking place at Airbnb rental property involving approximately 50–75 Kentucky State University students. During the gathering, a large altercation broke out, during which a firearm was discharged.
Two individuals, Darris Ivy, 19, of Saint Clair, Illinois, and Kamora Laye, 20, of Louisville, Kentucky, sustained non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. Both were transported to Frankfort Regional Hospital for treatment.
Detectives attempted to interview several individuals at the scene; however, due to a lack of cooperation, no suspect information was obtained at that time.
The investigation remains ongoing. Detectives are continuing to process evidence collected from the scene and are asking anyone with information related to this incident to contact Post 12 at 502-227-2221.
KSP was assisted at the scene by the Lawrenceburg Police Department, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, and Anderson County EMS.
