Kentucky State Police Investigates Shooting in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky

Lawrenceburg, Ky. (March 13, 2019) – Detectives from Kentucky State Police Post 12 in Frankfort, are investigating a shooting that occurred at 1140 Alton Station Road in Lawrenceburg, Ky.
On Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at approximately 8:30 a.m., Kentucky State Police Troopers were dispatched to 1140 Alton Station Road in Lawrenceburg, for a reported assault. When Troopers arrived they found Christopher J. Rogers age 45, of Lawrenceburg with apparent life threatening injuries inside his residence. After discovering Christopher Rogers, Detectives from Kentucky State Police Post 12 in Frankfort responded. Christopher Rogers was transported to the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington where it was determined Christopher Rogers was suffering from a gunshot wound.
During the course of the investigation it was discovered Amanda R. Rogers age 36, of Lawrenceburg discussed on multiple occasions with Jason P. Downs age 28, of Lawrenceburg about wanting her husband, Christopher Rogers killed. Jason Downs in turn discussed killing Christopher Rogers for Amanda Rogers.
On Thursday, March 14, 2019 Kentucky State Police Detectives arrested Jason P. Downs and charged him with Assault 1st Degree. Friday, March 15, 2019 Kentucky State Police Detectives arrested Amanda R. Rogers has been charged with Murder (Solicitation). Both have been lodged in the Shelby County Detention Center.
This case remains under investigation by Detectives from the Kentucky State Police.
