Kentucky State Police Conduct Death Investigation

Shelbyville, Ky. (May 6, 2018) – On Sunday, May 6, 2018 at approximately 9:00am, Shelby County Fire and EMS received a call of a fire at 125 Gloria Drive in Shelbyville, Ky.

Shortly after arriving they found a deceased female and male. The Kentucky State Police were then called to conduct the Death Investigation and Fire.

 

When firefighters made entry into the home located at 125 Gloria Drive they discovered a deceased female believed to be Georgina L. Knott, age 44 of Shelbyville. As the investigation continued a male, James M. Knott, age 47 of Shelbyville was discovered deceased inside of a vehicle, behind the residence with what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

 

The Kentucky State Police were assisted at the scene by Shelby County Fire and EMS, Shelby County Coroner, and the Shelby County Sheriff Department. The investigation is ongoing by Kentucky State Police Post 12 Detectives, Post 5 and Post 8 Arson Investigators and the Scott County Arson Investigator.
