Kentucky State Police Investigate Letcher County Murder

Cowan, KY (March 8, 2024) – On Thursday, March 7, 2024, at approximately 7:52 P.M., Kentucky State Police, Post 13, Hazard, received a 911 call in reference to a female being located, unresponsive, on Dinah Blair Hollow Rd. located in the Whitesburg community of Letcher County.

Troopers, along with medical personnel responded to the scene. Upon arrival, Angela Roberts, 59, of Whitesburg was located, deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. Detectives with KSP responded to the scene and launched an investigation. The Letcher County Coroner’s Office responded and pronounced Roberts deceased on scene.

Roberts was taken to the Medical Examiners Office in Frankfort pending autopsy. This incident remains under investigation by Detective Anthony Trotter.
