
Kentucky State Police Investigating Fatal Collision
Isom, KY. (April 5, 2021) – On Saturday, April 3, 2021, at approximately 12:59 P.M, Kentucky State Police, Post 13, Hazard, received a call in reference to a two-vehicle accident with injuries in the Isom community of Letcher County.
Troopers responded to the scene. Initial investigation indicated that a black Ford F-150 being operated by Lawrence Halcomb, 37, of Blackey, attempted to pull across KY-15 from KY-7N into a gas station parking lot. Upon pulling onto the roadway, the truck struck a white Chevrolet Aveo traveling north on KY-15 being operated by Jackie Tolliver, 85, along with passenger Deborah Tolliver, 71, both of Littcarr. Halcomb refused medical treatment on scene. Jackie and Deborah Tolliver were transported to Whitesburg ARH but later transferred to Pikeville Medical Center to be treated for injuries sustained in the collision.
On Monday, April 5, 2021, Post 13 received a call from Pikeville Medical Center stating that Jackie Tolliver had succumbed to injuries as a result of the collision. Seat belts were in use at the time of the collision. This collision remains under investigation by Trooper Wilson Jones.
