KSP Searching for Man who Robbed Bank in Hyden  

Hyden, Ky. (May 22, 2018) – Kentucky State Police investigators are searching for a man who robbed a bank in Leslie County Monday afternoon. 

KSP Post 13 received a call from Hyden Citizens Bank shortly before 1:00 p.m. yesterday advising that a branch bank had been robbed.  Troopers and Detectives from Post 13 responded to the Hyden Citizens Bank location in the Hurts Creek Shopping Center off of old KY 80 in Hyden. 

 Upon arrival at the scene, investigators determined that an unidentified man walked into the bank and presented a note to a teller demanding money.  The teller complied with the demand and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the assailant.  The man exited the bank and was last seen walking across the parking lot of the shopping center.  Troopers were unable to locate the suspect in the area.

 The perpetrator is described as being a white male who is between 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing approximately 150 pounds.  He was last seen wearing a dark ball cap, long sleeved navy blue sweat shirt and light blue colored jeans.  Witnesses advised that the man was wearing sun glasses and had scruffy-looking facial hair that appeared to be a mix of dark and white hair.  Anyone with information that might assist with this investigation is urged to contact KSP Post 13 at 606-435-6069.  Individuals can also give information on any of KSP’s social media sites, public web page or the KSP mobile app.  Detective Eric Caldwell is leading this investigation.
