Kentucky State Police Conduct Knott County Shooting Investigation

Kite, KY. (June 30, 2021) – On Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at approximately 7:00 P.M, Kentucky State Police, Post 13, Hazard, received a call on Big Blue Lane located in the Kite community of Knott County. The caller stated that a male had been shot.

Troopers and Detectives responded to the scene and located Kolby Mckay Hall, 22, of Kite, deceased from a gunshot wound. The Knott County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene and pronounced Hall deceased on scene. Initial investigation indicates that Kolby Hall came to the residence of Larry Hall, 67, of Kite, making threats. An altercation occurred inside the residence, which lead to Kolby Hall being shot.

No charges have been filed, this investigation will be presented to the Knott County Grand Jury for consideration. This incident remains under investigation by Detective Anthony Trotter.
