
Kentucky State Police Post 14 Investigating Fatal Collision
Alcohol is not suspected
Grayson, Kentucky – (October 24, 2019) The Kentucky State Police in Ashland are investigating a fatal, two vehicle collision that occurred yesterday evening, at approximately 5:30 PM, at the 13000 block of KY 986 of Carter County. The investigation revealed that Kenneth Erwin Jr., age 46 of Olive Hill, had been operating a 2008 Ford Medicab when he rear-ended an International tractor. The tractor was being operated by Earl E. Withrow, age 71 of Olive Hill.
Earl E. Withrow was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Carter County Coroners office. Kenneth Erwin Jr. was transported to King’s Daughters Medical Center for treatment.
At the time no criminal charges have been filed as a result of the crash, and alcohol is not a suspected contributor. The collision remains under investigation by Trooper Bobby King, who was assisted on scene by Carter County EMS, the Carter County Coroner’s Office, Carter County Sheriff’s Office, and the Grayson Fire Department.
