Ohio County Man Arrested for Outstanding Warrants

A Brief Standoff with Suspect, Arrest without Incident

McHENRY, Ky. (November 11, 2018)—Just before midnight, a Kentucky State Police trooper patrolling the McHenry community (Ohio County) observed a suspicious person wearing a ghillie suit loading a motorcycle into an enclosed trailer at the old McHenry School. As the trooper approached, the suspect fled into the abandoned school. A short time later, the trooper located the suspect hiding under the gym stage. After a 30 minute standoff, KSP troopers took him into custody. Troopers identified the suspect as 36-year-old Chester C. Howard of Beaver Dam. He had multiple arrest warrants.

 

 

He was charged with the following:

Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Deg, 1st Off (Methamphetamine)

Drug Paraphernalia – Buy/Possess/Poss Of Marijuana

Receiving Stolen Property U/$10,000

Obscuring the Identity of a Machine $500 < $10,000

Tampering with Physical Evidence

Persistent Felony Offender I

Execution of Indictment Warrant: Receiving Stolen Property U/ $10,000/Persistent Felony Offender I

Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Deg 1st OFF (Drug Unspecified)

Cruelty to Animals-2nd Degree

 

Howard was transported and lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center in Hartford.
