UPDATE: Kentucky State Police Arrests Daviess County Man on Multiple Sexual Offense Charges

UTICA, Ky. (Feb. 20, 2026) – The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office and Daviess County Coronor’s Office responded to the apparent suicide of Mr. David Rodgers around 9:45am yesterday morning near his Utica residence.
Kentucky State Police protocol is to keep a current investigation open until an official death certificate is issued, at which time a formal request to clear the case will be filed with the Daviess County Courts.
UTICA, Ky. (Feb. 16, 2026) –Troopers with the Kentucky State Police, Post 16 -Henderson, arrested a Daviess County man on February 16, 2026, following an investigation into allegations involving a juvenile.
At approximately 7:35 p.m., troopers arrested David A. Rodgers, 40, of Utica, KY, after an investigation revealed he engaged in a sexual relationship with a juvenile through a position of special trust.
Rodgers was charged with:
Rape, 3rd Degree
Sodomy, 2nd Degree – Position of Authority
Sexual Abuse, 1st Degree
Procuring or Promoting Use of a Minor by Electronic Means
Possession of Matter Portraying Sexual Performance by a Minor Under 12
Rodgers was lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center in Owensboro, KY. The investigation is on-going by Kentucky State Police detectives.
