KSP Investigating Fatal Collision in Henderson County
HENDERSON, Ky. (April 12, 2026) – Kentucky State Police Post 16 in Henderson is investigating a fatal collision that occurred this afternoon on Green Street and Borax Drive in Henderson.
Kentucky State Police Post 16 – Henderson was notified by Henderson City Police just after 2p.m. requesting our agency to investigate and reconstruct a two-vehicle fatality crash that occured around 1:56 p.m.
Preliminary investigation revealed a black 1996 Kenworth tractor only operated by Lester J. Jones, 55 of Sturgis was traveling eastbound on Green Street. A grey Ford Bronco operated by James J. Jobe, 66 of Corydon and passenger Jason P. Jobe, 21 of Corydon entered the intersection from US 41-A / Borax Drive when Jones struck the driver’s side of Jobe’s vehicle.
James Jobe was pronounced dead on-scene and passenger Jason Jobe was transported to Saint Vincent Hospital in Evansville. He is listed in stable condition. Jones was not injured in the collision.
It is still early in the investigation and reconstructionists have not yet determined fault in the collision.
The investigation and reconstruction is ongoing by Trooper Josh Turner. KSP was assisted at the scene by the Henderson City Police, Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, Henderson City Fire Department, Henderson County Emergency Medical Services and Henderson County Coronor’s Office.
