Kentucky State Police Announces Captain Brian Duvall as New Post 16 Commander

HENDERSON, Ky. (September 21, 2026) – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) is pleased to announce that Captain Brian Duvall has assumed command of Post 16 in Henderson, effective September 16, 2026. In this role, Captain Duvall will oversee all post operations and personnel serving the six-county region of Daviess, Hancock, Henderson, McLean, Ohio, and Union. A dedicated public servant with 24 years of experience within the agency, Captain Duvall brings a wealth of leadership and operational expertise to the Henderson post. He is a 2002 graduate of the KSP Academy and began his distinguished career assigned to Post 1 in Mayfield. Throughout his tenure, Captain Duvall has served in various leadership capacities across the Commonwealth. He was promoted to sergeant in 2014, serving at both the Madisonville and Mayfield posts, before advancing to the rank of lieutenant in 2017. As a lieutenant, he served at the Mayfield, Madisonville, and Bowling Green posts. Additionally, he served as the Assistant Academy Commander at the KSP Academy in Frankfort, where he played a pivotal role in the training of new KSP cadets and the annual in-service training for troopers. In 2025, he was promoted to captain and assigned to the Security Branch in Frankfort. In that capacity, he oversaw troopers and officers responsible for the security of more than 14 locations, including the State Capitol, the Secretary of State’s office, the Attorney General’s office, the Supreme Court Justices’ offices, and the offices and staff of state legislators. “I am honored to take on the role of Post Commander at Post 16,” said Captain Duvall. “I look forward to working alongside the dedicated troopers and local law enforcement in this region to continue our mission of serving and protecting the citizens of Daviess, Hancock, Henderson, McLean, Ohio, and Union counties.”
