Kentucky State Police Investigates Fatal Collision in Muhlenberg County

MADISONVILLE, KY. (November 18, 2025) – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 2 in Madisonville is investigating a fatal collision involving a single vehicle on US-431 in Central City, Kentucky that occurred November 16, 2025 in Muhlenberg County. 

At approximately 10:57 AM CT, Muhlenberg County Dispatch contacted KSP Post 2 requesting assistance with a single vehicle collision near 13478 US-431 in Central City, Kentucky. 

A preliminary investigation indicates a vehicle operated by Benjamin Obannon, 31 years old of Bowling Green, Kentucky was traveling north on US-431 and traveled off the roadway striking a culvert. Passenger Angelica McGehee, 30 years old of Drakesboro, Kentucky received medical attention at a nearby Hospital. Mr. Obannon was air lifted and later succumbed to his injuries from the collision. 

The investigation is ongoing and is being led by Trooper Kirby Broadbent (U/731) of the Kentucky State Police.
