KSP Post 2 Shop with a Trooper (S.W.A.T.)

Princeton, Ky. – On Tuesday, December 3, 2019, the Kentucky State Police Professional Association (KSPPA) Chapter 2 conducted its 23rd annual “Shop with a Trooper” (S.W.A.T.) program.  This program is designed to assist provide children with items of need during the Christmas season.

 

Fifty-six children, their families, KSP troopers, KSP families, KSP dispatchers, Kentucky Fish and Wildlife, and a Caldwell County Sheriff’s Deputy, met at the Area 2 Fire & Rescue Training Center in Princeton.  Pizza from Papa John’s in Paducah was provided for the families, and Sonic Drive-In of Princeton treated all of the children to ice cream.

 

Families were also provided food baskets via donations from citizens of Princeton, Ky., Save A Lot of Morgantown, and the KSPPA Chapter 2.

 

Children were also given small dental care kits with supplies donated by Louisville Metro 7th Division and Delta Dental.

 

After dinner, law enforcement and their families assisted the children with their shopping at the Princeton Wal-Mart.  The shopping lists consisted of several items including coats, pants, shirts, shoes, hats, gloves, and toys.
