Kentucky State Police Post 2 investigates Murder in Todd County

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (February 10, 2026) –Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 2 is investigating a shooting that occurred on March 8, 2026, at approximately 9:20 AM CT in Guthrie, Kentucky. KSP Post 2 Dispatch began receiving calls regarding an adult male lying in the roadway on Springmont Circle who appeared to have suffered from gunshot wounds.A preliminary investigation indicates Jerell Edmonds, 24, of Elkton, Kentucky, was identified as the suspect responsible for the death of Evan Hall, 24, of Guthrie, Kentucky. A second victim was also on scene and appeared to have sustained injuries from Mr. Edmonds.

Troopers arrested and charged Mr. Edmonds with Murder, Assault 4th Degree, and Possession of Marijuana. Mr. Edmonds was transported and lodged in the Todd County Jail.

This investigation is ongoing and is being led by Detective Jacob Stephens U/1216. No further details are available at this time.
