KSP Arrests Elkton Man after Search Warrant

Sharon Grove, Ky. (Todd County) – Trooper Brett Martin, of Kentucky State Police Post 2 in Madisonville, obtained a search warrant for a residence in the 1100 block of Shemwell Road in Sharon Grove, after receiving information of drug trafficking at the residence. Trooper Martin executed the search warrant on May 27, 2020.

While executing the warrant, KSP Troopers discovered suspected methamphetamine in a Chevy El Camino on the property. Further investigation revealed the suspected methamphetamine belonged to 22-year-old Jeffery Dalton Smith, of Elkton.

Jeffery Smith was arrested and lodged in the Todd County Detention Center, where he was charged with the following:

1. Possession of Controlled Substance 1^st Degree, 1^st Offense (Methamphetamine)
2. Drug Paraphernalia- Buy/Possess
3. Possession of Marijuana
