Kentucky State Police Post 2 Investigates Muhlenberg County Fatal Collision

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (June 29, 2026) –The Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 2 is investigating a fatal collision that occurred on June 28, 2026, at the intersection of US-431 and Power Plant Road in Muhlenberg County involving three individuals.

A preliminary investigation indicates that a Nissan sedan, operated by Whitney Duarte, 35, of Central City, Kentucky, was traveling southbound on US-431 when the vehicle crossed the center line and collided with a Ford pickup truck operated by Kevin Latham, 56, of Bremen, Kentucky and passenger Joey Watkins, 67, of Central City, Kentucky.

All three individuals were pronounced deceased at the scene by the Muhlenberg County Coroner.

The investigation remains ongoing and is being led by Trooper Travis Vandrew, U/711.
