Kentucky State Police Investigates Fatal Collision in Christian County

CROFTON, Ky. (07/28/2025) – On July 27, 2025, at approximately 12:58 p.m. (CT), Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 2 was contacted by Christian County dispatch requesting that we investigate a fatal collision involving a pedestrian at the 22-mile marker on the Pennyrile Parkway.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2011 Cheverlet Equinox was parked on the northbound shoulder. Krystin M. Bowling, 32, of Massillon, OH, was outside of the vehicle securing her luggage. Jeffrey B. Calhoun, 62, of Madisonville, Ky, was operating a 2014 Toyota Prius traveling northbound on the Pennyrile Parkway.

For unknown reasons, Calhoun’s vehicle traveled toward the parked vehicle and struck Bowling, who was standing outside.

Krystin M. Bowling was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Christian County Coroner. The investigation is ongoing by Accident Reconstructionist Hunter Combs.
