
Felony Assault Investigation
KSP received a complaint involving a 2 month old child with severe injuries
Herndon, KY (Christian County) – On August 12, 2018, at approximately 10:34 PM, the Kentucky State Police received a complaint involving a 2 month old child with severe injuries, consistent with abuse.
The child was transported by Ambulance to Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville, KY, then later flown by helicopter to Vanderbilt University Children’s Hospital in Nashville, TN due to the severity of the child’s injuries. KSP Detectives met with the Vanderbilt CARE Committee in reference to the investigation. As a result, Cassandra Hansley, age 23, of Herndon, was charged with 1 count of Assault 1st Degree. Cody Hansley, age 24, of Herndon, was charged with 1 count of Complicity to Assault 1st Degree. Both subjects were processed and lodged in the Christian County Detention Center.
The child is now in stable condition. The investigation is ongoing by Detective Brandon McPherson.
