UPDATE: KSP Conducting Investigation of Fatal Apartment Fire

UPDATE 

Through further investigation, KSP Arson Investigator Scott Steward was able to determine the fire started in the apartment around at the stove.

On August 9, 2018 at 2:59 PM, Andra Pool was pronounced deceased at Vanderbilt Medical Center.

KSP Conducting Investigation of Fatal Apartment Fire

 

Hopkinsville, KY (Christian County) – On August 7, 2018 at 4:05 AM the Kentucky State Police Post 2 in Madisonville received a call of a fire in apartment G7 at Woodland Heights Apartments in Hopkinsville.

 

First responders were able to make entry into the apartment where they discovered David Keys, 25, of New Albany, Indiana, and Andra Pool, 22, of Hopkinsville, Kentucky. Mr. Keys was pronounced deceased on scene by Christian County Coroner. An autopsy confirmed Mr. Keys’ death was due to smoke inhalation. Ms. Pool was flown by Air Evac to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she is in critical condition.

 

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police Arson Investigator Scott Steward, but foul play is not suspected.
