
KSP Arrests Madisonville Man Operating Motorcycle with Destroyed VIN
Richland, Ky. (Hopkins County) – on September 7, 2020, around 9:39 a.m, Trooper Jon Eilert, of Kentucky State Police Post 2, Madisonville, observed a Harley-Davidson motorcycle speeding on Beulah Road in the Richland Community.
Trooper Eilert initiated a traffic stop on the motorcycle, where he identified the operator as 48-year-old Kevin Johnson, of Madisonville, Ky. Further investigation revealed the registration Mr. Johnson provided for the motorcycle was for a different vehicle, and the motorcycle’s VIN had been destroyed.
Kevin Johnson was arrested and lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center, where he was charged with the following:
- Speeding 17 MPH Over Limit
- No Registration Plates
- No Registration Receipt
- Operating on Suspended or Revoked Operator’s License
- Destruction of VIN Number
- No Motorcycle Operator’s License
- Failure to Notify Address Change to Department of Transportation
- Failure to Surrender Revoked Operator’s License
The motorcycle has been identified as a 2009 Harley-Davidson FXCWC, Softail Rocker. KSP is requesting the public’s assistance in locating the motorcycle’s owner.
