Kentucky State Police Post 3 Investigates Fatal Collision in Warren County

BOWLING GREEN, KY. (October 15, 2025) – On 10/15/2025 at 06:03hrs, Troopers with the Kentucky State Police Post 3 received reports of a single vehicle collision in the area of the 13-mile-marker of Interstate 165 northbound in Warren County.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a black 2010 Cadillac SUV, operated by Courtney Poynter (35) of Glasgow, was northbound on Interstate 165 when her vehicle left the northbound lanes and entered the median where it rolled over. The vehicle came to final rest in the southbound lanes of Interstate 165.

Ms. Poynter was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Warren County Coroner’s Office. This investigation is ongoing and is being led by Trooper Brett Coomes of the Kentucky State Police. Trooper Coomes was assisted at the scene by the Warren County Coroner’s Office, Warren County Sheriff’s Office, Barren River Fire Department and Medcom EMS.
