Kentucky State Police Investigates Fatal Vehicle Collision in Hart County

Munfordville, KY. (November 11, 2024) – On November 09, 2024, at 6:49 p.m. Kentucky State Police responded to a 2-vehicle collision in the area of 3770 Priceville Road in Hart County.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a 2014 Ford Fusion, operated by Mikhaela Kostas (24) of Versailles, KY, was eastbound on Priceville Road when she attempted to pass other vehicles in the westbound lane. The Ford Fusion then collided with a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado, operated by a juvenile driver, that was westbound on Priceville Road.

Ms. Kostas was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Hart County Coroner’s Office. The juvenile driver and two (2) juvenile passengers of the Chevrolet Silverado were transported to Baptist Health in Elizabethtown for non-life-threatening injuries sustained during the collision.

The Kentucky State Police was assisted on scene by the Hart County Sheriff’s Office, Hart County EMS, Hart County Fire Departments, and the Hart County Coroner’s Office. This investigation is ongoing and is being led by Trooper Landon Key.
