Kentucky State Police Arrest Simpson County Man Following a Rape Investigation

Franklin, KY. (May 6, 2021) – Kentucky State Police Post 3 in Bowling Green is conducting an investigation into allegations of rape. On Monday, May 3rd, Post 3 was requested by Simpson County Sheriff’s Office to investigate an incident in Simpson County where an adult female reported that she had been raped at her residence. KSP Detectives responded to the scene.

During the investigation 65 year-old John D. Ellis of Franklin was identified as a possible suspect.  Post 3 Detectives were able to locate Ellis and an interview was conducted.  Ellis has been arrested and charged with Burglary 2nd, Kidnapping (Adult) and Rape 1st.  He is being lodged in the Simpson County Jail.  The investigation remains ongoing at this time.
