
KSP Pursuit Leads to Arrest of Clarksville Man
Park City, Ky. (Barren County)– Trooper Jason Adkison, of Kentucky State Police Post 3 in Bowling Green, observed a maroon Ford van traveling northbound on Interstate 65 at a high rate around 9:49 PM on July 22, 2020. Trooper Adkison initiated his emergency equipment to stop the vehicle near the 31 mile marker.
The operator of the van disregarded Trooper Adkison’s emergency equipment, and began to flee. The pursuit continued northbound for several miles, entering into Barren County. Troopers were able to successfully deploy a tire deflation device, causing the vehicle to come to a stop near the 48 mile marker. The operator then exited his vehicle and attempted to run on foot for a short distance before being apprehended. The operator was identified as 45-year-old Gerald W. Lovett, of Clarksville, Tn.
Gerald Lovett was arrested and lodged in the Warren County Detention Center, where he was charged with Speeding 26 MPH or > Speed Limit, Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle), Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree (Police Officer), Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, Driving DUI Suspended License 1st Offense, Operating Motor Vehicle Under Influence of Alcohol 4th Offense or >, Resisting Arrest, Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree (On Foot).
