Kentucky State Police Investigates Fatal Collision in Barren County
GLASGOW, Ky. (September 16, 2026) – At just after 7:00 a.m., the Kentucky State Police Post 03, Bowling Green, received a call from the Barren County Sheriff’s Office about a possible fatal collision. Troopers went on scene on Scottsville Road (31-E) and Old Scottsville Loop Third Road.
A preliminary investigation indicates that a black 2004 Chevrolet Silverado operated by Brock Lykins, 18, of Glasgow, was traveling north on 31-E. Mr. Lykins lost control of his vehicle, crossing the centerline. Mr. Lykins’s vehicle collided with a red 2006 Pontiac G6 operated by Martin Hernandez, age 40. Mr. Hernandez was pronounced dead on scene. A passenger of Mr. Hernandez’s vehicle, Adrick Ward, 21, of Glasgow, was airlifted and taken to TriStar Skyline Medical Center. Mr. Lykins was transported to T.J. Samson Community Hospital, where he will be treated for his injuries.
The investigation is ongoing and will be led by Trooper Grant Robertson. He was assisted at the scene by the Barren County Sheriff’s Office, Barren County EMS, and other KSP personnel.
