
Kentucky State Police Trooper Involved in Collision
Elizabethtown, Ky. (November 29, 2021)- A Kentucky State Police (KSP) trooper was involved in a two vehicle collision Sunday evening.
On November 28, 2021 at approximately 6:10 P.M., KSP Post 4 received information that a trooper had been involved in a two vehicle collision at the intersection of Ring Road and Gaither Station Road in Hardin County. The preliminary investigation revealed that Trooper Cameron Wright was traveling east on Ring Road; and, as he approached the intersection of Gaither Station Road a 2020 Chevrolet Camaro, being driven by Melissa Broadfoot, age 18 of Cecilia, failed to yield and pulled out into the path of Trooper Wright. The collision resulted in severe damage to both vehicles.
Trooper Wright was transported to Baptist Health Hardin for non-life threatening injuries and was later released. Broadfoot and her passenger, Elijah Wilson, age 18 of Cecilia, were treated at the scene by Hardin County EMS. The collision investigation is ongoing by Sgt. Stephen Oughton. KSP was assisted at the scene by Elizabethtown Police Department, Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, Hardin County EMS and Elizabethtown Fire Department.
