Kentucky State Police Post 4 Continues Traffic Enforcement in Jefferson County
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (December 3, 2025) – Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 4 in Elizabethtown continued targeted traffic enforcement efforts in Jefferson County this week as part of an ongoing initiative to promote safe driving and reduce collisions.
On Wednesday, December 3, Post 4 troopers and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement (CVE) officers conducted a one-day traffic enforcement operation that resulted in numerous traffic stops. Citations and courtesy notices were issued for violations including speeding, failure to wear a seat belt, expired registration plates, and no insurance, along with other violations. Troopers and CVE officers also worked multiple collisions assisting motorists in the Louisville Metro area.
While conducting the enforcement effort, one individual was arrested after fleeing from troopers. The subject was charged with speeding 26 mph over the limit, reckless driving, wanton endangerment 1st degree, DUI 1st aggravated circumstances, leaving the scene of an accident, assault 2nd degree, fleeing or evading police, driving on a DUI-suspended license (3rd offense), and additional driving offenses.
The driver, identified as Jonathan Galloway, 24, of Louisville, operated his vehicle in a reckless manner, posing a significant danger to the public by traveling the wrong way on surface streets and causing multiple collisions. Additional charges wil be forthcoming as the investigation continues.
Enforcement teams were positioned along I-264 (Watterson Expressway), I-265 (Gene Snyder Freeway), and I-65.
Post 4 Captain Jeremy Smith said the operation served as another way for troopers to help keep motorists in the Louisville Metro area safe.
“When individuals choose to disregard traffic laws, they create unnecessary hazards for everyone around them,” said Captain Smith in regards to the pursuit. “Our troopers will continue to intervene when dangerous behavior puts the public at risk.”
KSP Post 4 provides police services to Breckinridge, Bullitt, Grayson, Hardin, Jefferson, Larue, Meade, and Nelson counties.
