Kentucky State Police Post 4 Hosts Annual “Shop with a Trooper” Event for 105 Local Children
Elizabethtown, Ky. (December 6, 2025) – Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 4 brought holiday cheer to local families this week as troopers partnered with community organizations for the annual Shop with a Trooper event. This year, 105 children were paired with KSP troopers and Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife officers for a memorable day of holiday shopping, fun, and fellowship.
The day began with children arriving at KSP Post 4 to meet the troopers and officers who would be taking them shopping. After grabbing doughnuts provided by Amazin Glazin Donuts, the children loaded onto three Hardin County school buses. Troopers and officers, along with members of the Heavens Saints Motorcycle Ministry, led a special escort guiding the buses to the event location. Upon arrival, troopers, officers, Post 4 personnel, and family members joined the kids at Walmart in Elizabethtown, ready to shop for the holidays.
Following the shopping experience, the children and parents enjoyed a warm meal generously provided by Donatos Pizza of Elizabethtown, adding an extra touch of comfort to an already memorable day. Before heading home, each child received a gift bag filled with stuffed animals, hygiene items, and books, while parents were given a gift card thanks to the generosity of Southeast Christian Church in Nelson County.
“Shop with a Trooper is one of the most meaningful programs we participate in each year,” said Captain Jeremy Smith. “It allows us to build real connections with these kids and their families and to serve our community in a way that goes far beyond our daily responsibilities. It’s a day our entire post looks forward to.”
KSP Post 4 extends its gratitude to all community partners, volunteers, and donors who made this year’s event possible.
