Kentucky State Police Investigating Fatal Collision Involving Pedestrian on Interstate 65

COLESBURG, Ky. (February 10, 2026) – Kentucky State Police are investigating a fatal collision that occurred early Monday morning on Interstate 65 southbound near the 100-mile marker in Hardin County.

At approximately 4:30 a.m., KSP received a call regarding a pedestrian in the roadway who had been struck by a Dodge Durango operated by an individual from Alabama. The pedestrian, identified as Carl Ollis, 45, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Hardin County Coroner.

Interstate 65 southbound was closed for approximately four hours while KSP conducted the on-scene investigation and collision reconstruction.

The investigation remains ongoing and is being led by KSP collision reconstructionist Detective Scott Wheatley.
