Vehicle Strikes Child In Grayson Ky.

Clarkson, KY. (March 18, 2019) –Kentucky State Police Post 4 Troopers and Grayson County Deputies responded to an injury accident just outside of Clarkson Monday evening.  On March 18, 2019 at approximately 5:38 P.M. CDT; KSP received a call from Grayson County Sheriff, Norman Chaffins requesting assistance with an accident investigation where a vehicle had struck a juvenile riding a bicycle on Millerstown Road (KY 224) in Clarkson. The preliminary investigation revealed, Debra Boone (62) of Caneyville, was traveling west near the 1800 block of Millerstown Road in a 2010 Cadillac SUV when the 11 year old male juvenile entered the roadway on a bicycle and into the path of the Boone’s vehicle.  Boone attempted to avoid striking the child but was unsuccessful. The juvenile was airlifted to Norton Children’s Hospital with life threatening injuries and was listed in critical condition, Boone was not injured.  Millerstown Road was shut down for approximately 2 hours while KSP Troopers reconstructed the accident.  KSP was assisted at the scene by the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, Clarkson Police Department, Clarkson Fire Department and Grayson County EMS. The accident is still under investigation by Trooper/Reconstructionist Brandon Brooks.
