Breckinridge County Sheriff Arrested After Collison In Breckinridge Co.
Sheriff Pate was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence
Hardinsburg, KY. (March 8, 2019) –Kentucky State Police Post 4 Troopers responded to a two-vehicle collision in Breckinridge Co. Friday night. On March 8, 2019 at approximately 6:35 P.M. CST, KSP Post 4 received a call of a two-vehicle collision near the 9400 block of KY 259 in Breckinridge County. The preliminary investigation revealed that Breckinridge County Sheriff, Todd Pate was operating his personal vehicle, a 2018 Chevrolet pickup truck, when he struck a 2007 Mercury Grand Marquis operated by Jill Lanning of Leitchfield. After striking Lanning’s vehicle, Pate’s vehicle struck a utility pole before coming to a stop in a barbwire fence. Lanning was transported to Breckinridge County Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries and was later released. Sheriff Pate was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and was lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center. The accident is still under investigation by Trooper Joey Beasley.
