KSP Elizabethtown Post Welcomes New Commander

Elizabethtown, Ky. (April 20, 2022)- Kentucky State Post 4 in Elizabethtown is welcoming Captain Jeremy Smith as its new Post Commander. Cpt. Smith is a 17-year-veteran with KSP and began his career in 2004 as a member of Cadet Class 83. He is a Pulaski County native and currently resides in Cave City.

Smith has served many roles with KSP.  In 2015, he was promoted to Sergeant and served at Post 3 in Bowling Green. In 2017, he was promoted to Lieutenant where he remained assigned to Post 3 in Bowling Green. Finally, in 2020, Smith was promoted to Captain and was assigned to KSP’s Inspection & Evaluations Branch and in 2021 he became the Commander of the Internal Affairs Branch. During his career, Smith has received the Kentucky State Police Citation for Meritorious Service with Valor, The Lifesaving Medal and The Commissioner’s Accommodation.

I am honored to be serving at Post 4 and excited to serve this community,” said Captain Smith. “I look forward to cultivating partnerships with other agencies and local organizations for a stronger, safer post district.
