Kentucky State Police Respond to Armed Standoff

GRAYSON, Ky. (May 17, 2025) – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) responded to a call for assistance by the Grayson Police Department (GPD) at approximately 10:00 a.m. concerning the welfare of a possible suicidal male. 

Upon arrival, GPD attempted to initiate contact with the individual at his residence on US-60. The male subject refused to speak with GPD and discharged multiple rounds from inside his residence. Officers immediately secured the scene, and a brief standoff ensued.

GPD requested the assistance of KSP. Once on scene, communications were established with the subject. The situation was resolved without further incident when the subject exited the residence unarmed, with his hands raised. He was taken into custody without injury.

The male subject identified as William Huff (DOB 04/04/1956), of Grayson, KY is being charged with Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree- Police Officer. This investigation remains under investigation.
