Kentucky State Police Investigate a Murder-Suicide in Hardin Co.

VINE GROVE, Ky. (June 17, 2023) – On June 17, 2023, at approximately 1:53 A.M., Kentucky State Police Post 4 received a call from the Vine Grove Police Department requesting assistance in investigating a possible murder-suicide that had occurred at a residence located at the 800 block of Edgebrook Drive in Hardin Co.

The preliminary investigation revealed the Vine Grove Police Department responded to the residence for a welfare check and discovered the bodies of Allen McLean, 67 years old, and his wife, Lisa McLean, 48 years old, both of Vine Grove. Based on evidence collected at the scene, investigators believe Allen McLean shot his wife before turning the weapon on himself.

Both McLeans were pronounced deceased at the scene by the Hardin Co. Coroner’s Office.

The Kentucky State Police was assisted by the Vine Grove Police Department, Hardin Co EMS, and the Hardin Co. Coroner’s Office. The investigation remains ongoing by Det. Mike Murray.
