Kentucky State Police Post 4 Welcomes New Post Commander

ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (September 21, 2026) –The Kentucky State Police (KSP) welcomes Captain Chris Baker as the new commander of KSP Post 4 in Elizabethtown.

Captain Baker began his career with the Kentucky State Police in 2009 as a member of Cadet Class 87. After graduating from the KSP Academy in June 2009, he was assigned to Post 16 in Henderson, where he served as a road trooper and later as a detective.

On January 1, 2017, Baker was promoted to sergeant and continued his assignment at Post 16. In September 2018, he transferred to Post 3 in Bowling Green.

Baker was promoted to lieutenant on September 1, 2019, while assigned to Post 3. In 2023, he was promoted to captain and initially assigned to the Inspections Branch. He later transferred to the Driver Testing Branch, where he served as commander from October 1, 2023, through September 2026.

A native of Breckinridge County, Captain Baker brings more than 17 years of experience with the Kentucky State Police to Post 4. His career has included assignments in patrol, criminal investigations, supervision and command.

Captain Baker will oversee the operations of Post 4, which serves Bullitt, Hardin, Meade, LaRue, Breckinridge, Jefferson, Grayson and Nelson counties.

The Kentucky State Police welcomes Captain Baker to Post 4 and looks forward to his leadership and continued service to the citizens of Kentucky.
