Kentucky State Police Post 5 Investigates Officer-Involved Shooting in Carroll County

CARROLLTON, Ky. (June 5, 2025) – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 5 in Campbellsburg has been requested by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) to investigate an officer-involved shooting that occurred on June 5, around 2:00 a.m. ET on KY-55 in Carroll County.

The preliminary investigation indicates an off-duty CCSO Deputy encountered a suspicious vehicle parked on private property on KY-55. After a brief interaction, the occupant in the vehicle accelerated and drove in the direction of the deputy, who then discharged his agency-issued firearm. The individual fled the area, driving north on KY-55. Shortly after leaving the scene, the vehicle crashed into a wooded area. Multiple agencies responded to the scene and located Mr. Clinton Meadows Jr., a 28-year-old male from Indianapolis, IN.  Mr. Meadows was arrested without further incident. A female passenger from the vehicle, Ms. Holly Price, a 34-year-old female from Indianapolis, IN., was also located and arrested related to the incident. No injuries were reported by the individuals involved, and no officers were injured during the incident.

KSP has statewide jurisdiction and investigates officer-involved shootings throughout the commonwealth as requested by local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. KSP is committed to being transparent while ensuring the integrity of the investigation. To protect the integrity of an ongoing investigation, it is KSP’s standard operating procedure not to release specific details until vital witnesses have been interviewed and pertinent facts have been gathered.
