Kentucky State Police Post 5 Joins Multi-State Traffic Safety Effort

Focused on Speeding, Impaired Driving and Seat Belt Violations

CAMPBELLSBURG, Ky. (October 09, 2025) — The Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 5 will join law enforcement agencies across five states for the 6-State Trooper Project from October 10-12. This coordinated traffic safety initiative focuses on speeding, seat belt usage and impaired driving, with the goal of reducing crashes and saving lives.

The 6-State Trooper Project is a multi-state partnership among state police agencies in Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Each enforcement period targets specific traffic safety concerns through collaboration and high-visibility patrols. By combining efforts, these agencies aim to make a greater impact on highway safety across the region.

To help keep Kentucky roadways safe, KSP offers these reminders for motorists: • Obey the Speed Limit: Speeding reduces your ability to react and increases the severity of crashes. • Buckle Up Every Time: Wearing a seat belt is the most effective way to protect yourself in a crash. • Drive Sober: Never get behind the wheel if you are impaired. Call a friend, use a rideshare, or find another way home. • Report Dangerous Driving: If you encounter a motorist driving aggressively or engaging in risky behavior, contact your local KSP Post or dial 911.

KSP remains committed to reducing traffic fatalities through education, enforcement and community engagement. Efforts like the 6-State Trooper Project demonstrate how teamwork and proactive enforcement can make roadways safer for everyone traveling through the commonwealth. To learn more about KSP, you can read the agency’s mission statement on its website.
