Kentucky State Police Post 5 Investigates Fatal Collision In Carroll County
CARROLLTON, KY (April 15, 2026) – Troopers from KSP Post 5 responded to a single-vehicle collision resulting in a fatality in Carroll County. Preliminary investigation indicates that a black 2014 Jeep Cherokee driven by Mr. Luis Antonio Orduno (33) of Mexico, ran off the right side of West Jay Louden Road, began sliding sideways, eventually impacting a nearby building. The passenger, identified as Mr. Luis F Mayoral Moguel (31) of Glencoe, was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Carroll County Coroner’s Office. Next of kin has been notified.
Mr. Orduno was transported to University of Louisville Hospital and received treatment for his injuries. Mr. Orduno was transported and lodged at the Carroll County Detention Center on the following charges:
1) Vehicular Homicide
2) DUI 1st Degree
3) No Operator’s License
4) No Insurance
5) Criminal Mischief 1st Degree
Mr. Mayoral Moguel was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville, where autopsy and toxicology results are pending.
