KSP Investigates Fatal Collision in Bracken County  

The collision remains under investigation by Reconstructionist Trooper Zachary Alsip.

Foster, Ky. (January 23, 2019) — Kentucky State Police are investigating a fatal collision between a passenger car and a Tractor Trailer on the AA Highway just South of KY 1019 in Bracken County.

The collision occurred on January 22, 2019 at approximately 11:57 pm on the AA Highway. Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2005 Chrysler 300 operated by Michael R Burns (36) of Maysville, KY crossed the center median of the AA Highway and collided with a 2019 Volvo Tractor pulling a Trailer operated by Kenneth Cook (60) of Spencer, Iowa.

Mr. Burns was pronounced deceased on scene by the Bracken County Coroner. Toxicology will be performed and alcohol is believed to be a factor.

Kentucky State Police were assisted on scene by Bracken County Fire Department, Bracken County EMS, Bracken County Coroner and the Kentucky Road Department.
