
Kentucky State Police Post 6 Dry Ridge Investigates a Hit and Run Collision in Nicholas County Involving a Amish Buggy
Carlisle, Ky. (October 21, 2025) – On October 19, 2025, at 11:53 p.m., the Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 6 Dry Ridge was contacted by the Nicholas County Sheriff’s Office in reference to a hit and run collision involving an Amish Buggy with serious injuries. Troopers responded to the scene on Concrete Road (KY 36). A collision reconstructionist was also called to the scene. Upon arrival at the scene, it was learned that an unknown vehicle struck the Buggy from behind and fled. One of the passengers in the Buggy suffered serious injuries and was transported to the UK Hospital, where they remain in serious condition. The other passenger was transported for fractures to both legs, and the driver of the Buggy was treated and released. Through investigation, KSP located the vehicle that fled the scene, a 2008 Silver Dodge Ram pickup truck. The Dodge Ram was located in Carlisle and found unoccupied.
