Kentucky State Police Investigate Fatal Collision in Bracken County

Dry Ridge, Ky. (December 9, 2025) – On December 8, 2025, at 7:58 am, Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 6 was notified of a fatal collision on KY 9 (AA Highway) in Bracken County near Hooke Lane. During the investigation, it was determined that a 2005 Mitsubishi box truck was traveling southbound when the driver lost control on a snow-covered road, crossed the center line, and struck a 2003 Chevrolet pickup head-on. Five males occupied the pickup. The driver of the truck was pronounced deceased at the scene, and the other four passengers were transported to Meadowview Hospital in Mason County; three of them were later transferred to the UK Medical Center for life-threatening injuries. Five other vehicles were unable to stop and were also involved in the collision. Two drivers from those vehicles were transported to Meadowview for non-life-threatening injuries. KSP Post 6 was assisted at the scene by Bracken County Sheriff’s Office, Bracken County Fire and EMS, Augusta Fire Department, Maysville Fire and EMS, and Mason Sheriff’s Office. This collision remains under investigation by Post 6.
