Kentucky State Police Post 6 Investigate a Fatal Collision In Bracken County

BROOKSVILLE, Ky. (June 2, 2026) –On June 1, 2026, the Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 6 was requested to assist the Bracken County Sheriff’s Office on a fatal collision on Ky 9 (AA Highway) at Old Pea Ridge Road. At approximately 5:40 pm, a 2023 Ford Escape operated by Deron Johnson was traveling southbound when it crossed the centerline and struck a 2020 Dodge Ram traveling northbound head-on. The Dodge Ram was operated by Jase Fenner. As a result of the collision, Mr. Johnson was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Bracken County Coroner’s Office, while Mr. Fenner was flown to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries. KSP was assisted at the scene by the Bracken County Sheriff’s Office, Bracken County Fire and EMS, Air Evac 89, and the Bracken County Coroner’s Office. The collision remains under investigation by KSP Post 6 Collision Reconstruction Investigators.
