
Kentucky State Police Respond to Fatal Plane Crash in Lincoln County
Crab Orchard, KY. (December 11, 2021) – The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post, responded to a plane crash in the Crab Orchard community of Lincoln County Friday evening, December 10, 2021
The Kentucky State Police was contacted by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office just after 5:00 pm, in reference to a fatal plane crash. KSP Post 7 Troopers and Detectives responded and located a fixed wing, single engine airplane crash in a dense wooded area off of Begley Rd. Two occupants sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene by the Lincoln County Coroner.
KSP Post 7 secured the crash site and notified the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) to investigate the incident.
The two occupants were identified as Ronald Eldridge, 61 years old and Lowell Strong, 63 years old, both of Nicholasville, KY. The bodies will be transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Officer in Frankfort for autopsies.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Post Detective, Storm Stevens. He was assisted on scene by KSP personnel, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Lincoln County Coroner’s Office and the Lincoln County Fire Department.
