Kentucky State Police Investigate Alleged Assault at Madison County Detention Center

RICHMOND, Ky. (April 8, 2026) – The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post was contacted on March 27, 2026, just before 9:00 a.m. EDT, in reference to an alleged assault that occurred at the Madison County Detention Center involving a detention center employee and an inmate.

Preliminary information indicates KSP was requested by local officials to investigate an incident involving a physical altercation between a deputy jailer and an inmate inside the facility. Detectives responded to the scene and began investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The investigation remains ongoing by KSP Post 7 Detective Adam Hall. Once the investigation is complete, the findings will be presented to the Madison County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office.
